Embarcadero Theater

San Francisco

An excellent day trip for East
and North Bay residents to make is to the Embarcadero Cinemas, just a stones
throw away from the Ferry Building in San Francisco’s Embarcadero Center.
This handsome, first-rate theater shows intelligent, first-fun movies. Lack
of late-night ferry service means matinees-only for most folks, but with the
late-night Larkspur runs some evening shows may be possible.
#5 Check out the X Games, Dude

If you think using the ferry to go to the ballgame makes
sense you’ll really want to take the ferry to this event. Last year
Over 400 of the world’s best alternative sporting event athletes compete for
prize money and medals in nine events in what became a national phenomena,
attended by millions and watched by gazillions.
#6 Mellow out with Sunday Jazz
Yoshi’s

There may be a better place for jazz in the Bay Area but we don’t know
about it; the setting at Yoshi’s is as sublime as the music offered by
consistently top-drawer headliners. Yoshi’s doesn’t do much to publicize its
2:00 PM Sunday afternoon shows because they already draw so well, so be sure to
get your tickets in advance. But once you’ve got the ducats lined you can look
forward to a beautiful day sail across the bay followed by some of the most
gorgeous music on the planet.
