Bay Area Bids Adieu to Madro
Madro Seattle daydreaming; crew in agony

Olympic medal winning sailor Jeff Madrigali ("Madro" to those in the know) is leaving the Bay Area for Whidbey Island, where he has been engaged to be the private sailing advisor to a private consortium of five very lucky Seattle sailboat owners.

Madrigali has racked up a slew of sailing-related prizes and medals, including the Mallory Cup, USOC Athlete of the Year, the 1997 Maxi World Championshiup, the Kenwood Cup and the bronze medal in the 1995 Olympic Games in the Soloing Class. Most recently, he represented North Sails. Along the way, he made many loyal friends, who bemoan his moving away but celebrate his good fortune and wish him the very best in his new endeavors.
