Delta Kappa Gamma Society International Reaches Out
The Delta Kappa Gamma Society
International was founded in 1929 in Austin Texas. It is a professional honorary society consisting of more than 98,000 women educators in fourteen countries. Members include classroom teachers, college and university professors, administrators and supervisors, librarians, counselors, and educational specialists. The Society promotes professional and personal growth of women educators with a focus on excellence in education.
California (Chi State) is represented by numerous chapters within seventeen State areas. One of these, Area III, has chapters located in Richmond, Albany, El Cerrito, Berkeley, Oakland, Alameda, Castro Valley, San
Leandro, San Lorenzo, Hayward, Fremont, Concord, Antioch, Byron,
Pittsburg, West Contra Costa, San Ramon Valley, Livermore, Dublin, Pleasanton, and
Sunol.
An Area III Conference, will be held at the Castlewood Country Club, Pleasanton on March 9, 2002, from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM. This event is held biannually across Chi State, to honor a member from each chapter who has given exceptional service to her Chapter, Area, Chi State and/or International level, her school, school district or community. The accomplishments of each chapter’s Outstanding Member, establishes a high standard of excellence and presents a learning experience for all to emulate.
All Delta Kappa Gamma Society International members are encouraged to attend the Conferences scheduled for chapters within their designated Areas in the State, for this significant occasion.
