Teatro ZinZanni
Pier 27 - The Embarcadero
San Francisco, CA
(415) 438-2668

Teatro Zinzanni’s taken the dinner theater idea to new heights. Feast on a sumptuous five-course meal while you’re literally surrounded by a Vaudeville-esque spectacle of theatre, music, and dance, all under a giant antique Belgian circus tent that sits right on the San Francisco waterfront. Your hosts are a colorful crew of clown-like characters, singers, dancers, contortionists, and illusionists, who sing, dance, hurl, twist, spin, juggle, and play, using the entire room and perhaps even your table as their stage. Sound crazy? It is. But it’s something your entire family will get a kick out of and it sure beats sitting in some stuffy old restaurant where you have to keep your voice to a whisper. Feel free to laugh out loud, holler, whistle, and clap. Who knows? You may even find you’re a part of the show. Crazier things have happened at Teatro ZinZanni.

The Baltic Building’s got quite a colorful past. Built in 1904, the historic structure’s served a variety of purposes over the years. Originally a saloon (and later a speakeasy), it’s also been a brothel, a private home, and even a funeral parlor. Of course, it’s now home to one of the most popular restaurants in Point Richmond, offering a reasonably priced menu of good old-fashioned comfort food with a few more sophisticated dishes thrown in for those with harder-to-please palates. Five nights a week (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), locals gather at the quaint bayfront bistro to catch live bands dishing out honest-to-goodness blues tunes.
