Taste on
the Bay on its Way
April 22, 2003 marks the debut of
what is certain to become one of the most celebrated events in the
Bay Area. Taste on the Bay promises to be an
unforgettable wine, food and cruis e experience held aboard the
ultimate venue…Signature Yacht Events 150-foot majestic flagship,
the San Francisco Spirit. With its three decks and marble
dance floors, this luxurious yacht will take the culinary
celebration under the Bay Bridge, past Alcatraz and Angel Island, to
the calm waters of Sausalito, under the magnificent Golden Gate
Bridge, and then down the famous waterfront of San Francisco.
Taste on the Bay will feature
award winning wineries and renowned restaurants, entertainment, a
silent auction, champagne toasts and dessert party. There is also an
exclusive Champagne Pre-Cruise Reception held onboard where select
wineries will be pouring their rare, limited edition vintages.
It’s all part of a major
fundraising effort by the San Francisco Parks and Recreation and
Department for the 2003 U.S. Youth Games, being held in San
Francisco July 25-29, 2003. The U.S. Youth Games is a nonprofit
organization committed to bringing together thousands of young male
and female athletes from around the country for an Olympic-like
experience. It is a unique opportunity for these youngsters to test
their skills against their peers from other parts of the nation.
Entering their 39th year, the Games have touched the lives of
millions and provided countless thrills and educational experiences
for youth.
