Farmers’ Markets Here, Farmers’ Markets There, Farmers’ Markets EVERYWHERE

The Market at the Ferry Building may be the Big Kahuna, but thanks to the Marin County Farmers’ Market Association, eight other Farmers’ Markets take place all around the Bay Area.

North San Pedro exit off Hwy 101, San Rafael
Marin Civic Center (Sundays & Thursdays, 8am-1pm, Year-Round)

Celebrating its 21st year, these fun markets continue to be strong, with a great local following. In peak season, as many as 8,000 shoppers attend on Sunday. Sunset magazine listed these markets as the best farmers’ markets in Northern California.

Fremont Blvd. & Bay Street
Fremont–Irvington (Sundays, 9am-1pm, Year-Round)

This market has a strong local customer base with incredible international diversity. Its attendance has continued to grow and makes this our second largest marketplace. This market won the 2003 Fremont Argus newspaper Reader’s Poll for “Best Farmers’ Market.”

Fremont Blvd. & Bonde Way
Fremont–Centerville (Saturdays, 9am-1pm, May–November)

In the heart of Fremont, next to the historic Centerville Train Depot, this market also is an international marketplace with a diverse selection of quality produce.

DeLong & Sherman Avenue
Novato (Tuesdays, 4pm-8pm,
May–October)

This evening market is popular with the locals as a place to shop for farm fresh treats and quick dinner entrees on their way home from work, or as a place to meet over coffee or dinner. We work closely with the Downtown Merchants’ Association on monthly special promotions.

Broadway & Pacheco
Fairfax (Wednesdays, 4pm-8pm, May–October)

Held in the Fairfax Theatre parking lot, this market is one of the area’s best places to find organic produce. The locals’ support of this market is growing every season and is a market you won’t want to miss!

New Splash Pad Park, Grand Ave. & Lakepark Way, across from the Grand Lake Theater
Grand Lake/Oakland (Saturdays, 9am-2pm, Year-Round)

This market has come out into the sun! Attendance and sales have increased tremendously since this market relocated. Within proximity of two major retail areas and with strong support from area merchants, this market has the most promise of growth this year.

Main & B Streets
Hayward (Saturdays, 9am-1pm, Year-Round)

Newly rennovated, Hayward’s Main Street is drawing more local customers than ever. The diverse type of retail stores, together with the Farmers’ Market, meets shoppers demands for increased quality in their neighborhood. We also work closely with the Downtown Merchants’ Association on monthly special promotions.
