Portends of Popular Port of Oakland PortFest

The Port of Oakland invites you to celebrate its 75th Anniversary at Portfest 2002! Saturday May 18th, from 11 am to 6 pm, at Jack London Square.
It’s a free day of fun for everyone. The festival will showcase a spectacular vintage air show, free harbor boat tours, dragon boat races, and two stages of great entertainment. Children will love operating the smallest working container crane. Enjoy fascinating aviation and maritime displays as well as a model train set-up that grown-ups won’t be able to resist.

Activities for kids will run all day long; cooking demonstrations and culinary delights will be offered in the international food court; and live bands and dance troupes will entertain throughout the day.

What would a 75-year birthday party be without a bit of history?! When you stroll through Jack London Square at Portfest 2002, you might run into aviators Amelia Earhart and Bessie Coleman, or perhaps you’ll catch writer Jack London scribbling a bit of prose.

You won’t want to miss it! Mark your calendar for Saturday, May 18th for Portfest 2002.
