Many of the crew at Latitude 38 join in but the event has become a creature unto itself. It is a fun way to get down the coast. Kickoff parties dot the coast as cruisers work their way to the starting line in San Diego. Many use this well-organized event as an inspiration to finally cast off the dock lines. For those not going for an endless summer, trucking back has caught on as a way to return after a month or so of fun in the warm Southlands. www.baja-haha.com.
