Concerts at the Cove Celebrates Alameda’s West End

West Alameda Business Association (WABA) will host its sixth annual Concerts at the Cove series—a series of three concerts at Alameda’s Crab Cove at the foot of McKay Avenue at Central Avenue. The free evening performances will be held on the second Friday of each month, June through August. The free concerts begin at 5:30 p.m., and are open to the public.

West Alameda Business Association (WABA) will host its sixth annual Concerts at the Cove series—a series of three concerts at Alameda’s Crab Cove at the foot of McKay Avenue at Central Avenue. The free evening performances will be held on the second Friday of each month, June through August. The free concerts begin at 5:30 p.m., and are open to the public.

WABA will kick off this year’s series on June 13 with the funky jazz guitar sound of Will Bernard & Motherbug. Radio Noise, a San Francisco band combining ska, reggae, funk, and rock, takes the stage July 11. Rhythm & blues band Napata and the Chocolate Kisses is featured on August 8.

Families can truly enjoy the Crab Cove shoreline experience by also visiting the Crab Cove Visitor Center, which is adjacent to the concert area. The Visitor Center staff is offering organized activities for families and children on the deck of the center, which will be open until 7:30 p.m. each night of the concerts.

Concerts at the Cove are sponsored by WABA, Alameda Power & Telecom, East Bay Regional Park District, Rosenblum Cellars, and the Alameda Journal.

Free parking is available at Crown Memorial Beach, just a short walk from Crab Cove. Public transportation is also available.
