The Ferry Building Marketplace is steadily adding new shops, lending momentum to what has quickly become one of San Francisco’s favorite destinations for food shopping, eating and socializing .
Just announced: from October 23-26 the first of a series of seasonal public festivals . First up: the Harvest Festival.
Thursday, October 23, 5-8pm Wine Tasting
The Marketplace joins with CUESA (Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture) to host a Wine Tasting featuring organic wines, Capt’ Mike Smoked Salmon, Andante Cheese and Della Fattoria Bread. Over 21 only.
Friday, October 24, 11:30am-1:30pm Harvest Lunch
Marketplace’s restaurants MarketBar, Hog Island Oyster Bar, Slanted Door, and Taylor’s Refresher serve casual food at long tables in front of the building. This is an opportunity to sample fare from marketplace restaurants which are open or about to open.
Saturday, October 25, 8am-2pm Ferry Plaza Farmers Market Harvest Day
Sheep Shearing, Pumpkin Carving, Apple Pressing, Butter Churning, Spinning Wool, Threshing Wheat, Live Music, Cooking demonstrations.
Sunday, October 26, 11;00am-2pm Treats For All Ages
Specially for Children 10 in Halloween Costumes:
11:30 Complimentary Goblin’s lunch (grilled cheese and almond butter & jam sandwiches, cider, apples)
12:00 Parade of children in costume through the building, led by a fiddler ,with trick or treating at selected shops

Drawing For Gift Baskets 2:00 Sunday, October 26
Gift Baskets created by merchants in the Marketplace will be given away at a drawing to be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, Oct. 26.
