Ongoing Films: Creative Individuals and Creative Milieus
The ability to see, think and formulate things in new ways is the basis of creativity. Yet the creative process contains many steps, and often a winding path. View 32 short films about Nobel Prize recipients and the paths leading up to their successes, illustrating different aspects of the creative process, as well as films documenting some of the most creative milieus of the 20th century.

STEM CELL Exhibit

The Exploratorium has joined with University of California San Francisco
(UCSF) professor Bruce Conklin to develop a prototype exhibit for the public
that displays mouse pluripotent stem cells, which have the potential to become many different things.
In the first of its kind public display, the public can witness the transition from stem cells in their undifferentiated state to their progress toward becoming cells that can become the heart under the Exploratorium’s high-resolution microscope Imaging Station. Entrance to exhibit included in the price of admission.

Iron Science Teacher
Fridays in July (Noon - 1pm)
Cheer on the competitors in this zany, science cook-off, where teachers compete before a live audience for the revered title of "Iron Science Teacher." In a fast-paced atmosphere where showmanship and creativity reign, science teachers are given 10 minutes and a holiday-related secret ingredient to concoct a science activity that can be used in the classroom. This event is free with admission.
