After a few year hiatus, due to budget cuts, Golden Gate Larkspur Ferry has partnered with the Water Transit Authority to bring back the popular "Merry Ferry."
Starting Mon., Dec. 12 through Sat., Dec. 17, special events will take place Mon. through Fri. aboard the 9:40 a.m. ferry from Larkspur. On Sat., Dec.12, Santa rides the 10:10 a.m. Larkspur Ferry. Bring your camera for a photo opportunity with Santa, or we’ll take a free Polaroid for you as a memento.
Why drive to the city to shop, when you can cruise across the Bay, and be entertained along the way? Preparations are being made for local merchants to be aboard with gift ideas and free samples of products, carol singers and lots of raffle prizes. Riding the Merry Ferry is one sure way to get in the holiday spirit.
To add to the ambience of the festivities, local school children will once again decorate the ferries.
One-way adult fare is $6.45, Youth (6-12) is $4.85 and children 5 and under ride free with a full fare adult (limit 2 children per adult). Senior and Persons with disabilities ride half-fare every day.
On weekends and holidays, youths 12 and under ride free with a full fare adult (limit 2 children per adult).
Make shopping over the holidays a fun event and ride the Merry Ferry.
