Editor’s note: Living in a city on the edge of the water provides choice; somedays even the weather is a choice. If you want foggy or sunny, you know where to go. The Bay Area has options and attracts the imaginative & the door openers. That, in turn, affords everyone more choice. Like the moving fog that slinks up coasts and down hillsides, it’s comforting and mysterious.
