Set sail aboard one of our larger yachts skippered by a professional OCSC skipper and enjoy a relaxing sunset out on the Bay. You can soak in the beauty of the evening while not lifting a finger; or pitch in and take the helm. Following the sail we will serve chili, chips, salsa, and beverages. This class features the intermediate skills of edging and bracing, the skills you will need to feel competent and capable of paddling your kayak in challenging conditions. By the end of this class you feel control of your kayak in wind and waves, able to steer without the use of a rudder, and you will have learned the basics of surf landing. Are you ready to try kayaking? Maximize your fun on the water! This half-day class (4 hours) allows you to paddle a few different types of kayaks, including Touring Kayaks (for open water), Recreational Kayaks, and Sit-on-Tops. Learn the basic strokes and the difference between boat types. This class emphasizes basic water safety, but saves capsize recovery practice for a later class. $59 includes kayaks, all gear, and instruction.

The area around Hog Island is rich in wildlife and scenic beauty. Over 400 Tule Elk inhabit the peninsula and can be seen from the kayaks. We launch at Miller Park Boat Ramp and paddle to the remote beaches of the Peninsula. We will discover the myriad and diverse animals which inhabit the Bay and its shores. It is common to see harbor seals, bat-rays, leopard sharks, osprey, occasionally Sea Lions and some juvenile Gray Whales feeding in the area! Cost: $98 per person.
