WETA Appoints New Executive Director

At its June 19 meeting, the Board of Directors of the WETA announced the appointment of Jonathan Stanley as WETA Executive Director. Mr. Stanley will begin work at WETA on July 21, 2008.

Mr. Stanley is currently the CEO of the Aircraft Carrier Hornet Foundation, which operates the naval ship museum located in the retired U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Hornet in the City of Alameda. He brings over 25 years of progressive experience in project management, engineering, operations, and quality management in the utility industry, manufacturing, transportation, and the U.S. Department of Energy. He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and also holds a graduate degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. He has been a resident of the Bay Area for the last 30 years.
