Furthur Rises from the Dead to Perform at Outside Lands Festival

The 3rd Annual Outside Lands will be held August 14 – 15 in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco to benefit SF Recreation & Parks. Not just your typical music festival, Outside Lands transcends the genre with its staggering fusion of music, food, wine and art. This year’s stellar lineup includes Furthur, featuring Phil Lesh and Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead. The Grateful Dead had a long history of playing in Golden Gate Park dating back to the 1960s. Other major acts performing include Kings of Leon, Al Green, My Morning Jacket, Levon Helm Band, the Strokes and dozens of more popular bands over the two-day festival. Local food available includes delectable ahi tuna poke and baja shrimp ceviche (Pacific Catch), portobello mushroom skewers (Asqew Grill), farm to spoon soups (Split Pea Seduction), Korean tacos (namu), crepes (Ti Couz), BBQ pulled pork sandwiches (Maverick), samosas and chicken curry (New Ganges), organic smores (Charles Chocolates), fried chicken and pecan pie (Farmer’s Brown Little Skillet), ice cream sandwiches (It’s-It), grass-fed beef hot dogs (Let’s Be Frank) and cupcakes (Mission Minis).
