Summer is in full swing at Jack London Square, the perfect waterfront destination for food, entertainment and fun. The August calendar is packed with outdoor festivities for the entire family including evening bazaars, sing-along movie nights, San Francisco Bay cruising, live jazz and more.

August kicks off the Jack London Square "Sing-Along Cinemas" film series, with a screening of Grease on Wednesday, August 14 at sundown. A theatrical troupe will lead audiences in an evening of song, dance and fun along with the movie. Cinemagoers are invited to show up in costume dressed as their favorite character and sing along to their favorite songs. Stay tuned for more sing-along screenings in September (Mama Mia) and October (Little Shop of Horrors).

Yoshi’s Jazzfest is a celebration of music that will fill Jack London Square with an afternoon of eclectic performances on Saturday, August 17. This annual summer festival of free live music will feature Salvador Santana, the Julian Coryell Trio, Dos Four and the Oakland Jazz Workshop Performance Ensemble.

Jack’s Night Market has been a hit this summer and continues with the outdoor bazaar taking place on Friday, August 2 from 6 to 10 p.m. Also, don’t miss the conclusion of Waterfront Flicks on August 8 (Skyfall) and August 22 (The Goonies), as well as the last month of the Electric Slide, East Coast Swing, Argentine Tango, Night Club Two Step and Salsa, at Dancing Under the Stars each Friday night in August.

The Presidential Yacht USS Potomac will offer America’s Cup fans the chance to experience the excitement of the 2013 Louis Vuitton Cup finals, on San Francisco Bay in style. On Saturday, August 17 and Saturday, August 24 climb on board the historic yacht for a special cruise including lunch, a host wine bar, amazing Bay views and bigscreen TVs for a front row seat at this once-in-a-lifetime event!

In addition to all the waterfront events, Jack London Square visitors can dine at a variety of contemporary restaurants including Bocanova, Forge Pizza, Hahn’s Hibachi, Haven, Il Pescatore, Kincaid’s Bayhouse, Lungomare, Scott’s Seafood, Yoshi’s and more.
