Our cover this month finds Oakland teen Michelle Macial at the helm of an OCSC Sailing School boat. OCSC’s Anthony Sandberg is introducing sailing to hundreds of teenagers. Working with Envision Academy of Arts & Technology, a tuition-free charter high school in Oakland, Sandberg gives every one of the school’s 350 students the opportunity to come to OCSC for an afternoon of sailing. Students who show additional interest will be enrolled in summer sailing camps at Treasure Island Sailing Center free of charge. Photo by Joel Williams
