BC Staff Report
On the weekend of December 13 and 14, San Francisco Bay Ferry will temporarily close the Alameda Main Street ferry terminal to permit work on the ferry dock. The weekend closure is needed to permit relocation of the dock and installation of new passenger gangways. Funds for the project in the amount of $450,000 were obtained through the half-cent transportation sales tax from Alameda County Measure B, which was passed with the support of nearly 82 percent of Alameda County voters in 2000.
Work is scheduled on a weekend to minimize ferry service disruption. Weekend customers are encouraged to take the ferry from the Oakland Jack London Square terminal, a short 12-minute drive from the Alameda terminal. The Oakland ferry terminal is located at 10 Clay Street, Jack London Square. Free validated parking is available at the Washington Street Garage located at 101 Washington Street, Jack London Square.
The terminal will reopen on Monday, December 15 at 5 a.m. for the morning commute.
