Middle Harbor Shoreline Park Debuts

Take a bow, Port of Oakland. The lumbering giant of the Bay’s working waterfront has come into its fair share of abuse over dredging issues and (much) more, but last month’s opening of this splendid new park is an unqualified triumph

Mayor Jerry Brown was on hand to congratulate the Port of Oakland on building Middle Harbor Shoreline Park.

A Bay Area Blues Society saxophone player helped kick off the music part of the program which included the Unauthorized Rolling Stones, Big Bang Beat (Motown) and a Beatles Band – The Sun Kings.

Oakland City Council President Ignacio De La Fuente addressed the crowd during the grand opening ceremony.
