Tall Ships to All Ships

Held at the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park on May 13, 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m., this unique event is designed to introduce Bay Area high school students to the diversity of the maritime industry. All visitors are invited to visit booths manned by maritime professionals, hear panel discussions, and take interactive tours of working vessels. Each presenter will provide information designed to answer specific issues such as educational requirements, expected starting salaries, entry-level positions, internship possibilities, and existing and projected community needs. Why a Maritime Career Fair? Currently, awareness of and access to maritime training opportunities and career information in the Bay Area is extremely fragmented. The diversity and influences of the maritime field, although vital to our history and local economies, are not well understood by local educators, students, or the interested public. Developments in the maritime fields have created a need for better-qualified and environmentally conscious workers.
BE A STUDENT SPONSOR! The Maritime Career fair is designed to be completely free for participating students. In order to make the event available to the widest audience possible, individuals or companies interested in supporting this event can do so by sponsoring students, at $10 per student, with a suggested five-student minimum.
