Cruises down the Estuary at Jack London Square

The Alameda/Oakland Estuary along Jack London Square was lit up for the holidays with the 25th Annual Lighted Yacht Parade on Saturday, December 1, 2001. Over sixty nautical vessels of all imaginable sizes and shapes, dressed in their holiday lights and finery, floated past over 15,000 guests along the shore. This year’s theme was "Seasons Around the World" The USS Potomac, Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s 165' yacht currently berthed at Jack London Square, led the boats.

Admission to the Lighted Yacht Parade at Jack London Square is free. Events on land included live stage entertainment, festive food booths, carnival games, face painters, balloon twisters, photos with Santa Claus, holiday characters and much more.
