Names Robert Knigge, Vice President Sales & Marketing
Blue & Gold Fleet at PIER 39 today announced
the appointment of Robert Knigge to the position of Vice
President of Sales & Marketing. In this capacity, Knigge is
responsible for overseeing the sales and marketing efforts
for Blue & Gold Fleet including outside sales, group sales,
TeleSails ticketing, box office, advertising, specials
events, and customer service. Knigge reports to Ron Duckhorn,
president of Blue & Gold Fleet.
Knigge has held a variety of positions in
the hotel industry in San Francisco, most recently at the
Palace Hotel as Director of Sales & Marketing, and in the
same capacity previously at the Pan Pacific and Sir Francis
Drake hotels. Prior to these positions, he worked as
Regional Sales Manager for the Resort at Squaw Creek in Lake
Tahoe. His familiarity with the hospitality industry and the
importance of strong customer service will serve Blue & Gold
Fleet well in its competitive markets.
Blue & Gold Fleet is the Bay Area’s
largest provider of ferry and water excursion services. It
is the exclusive provider of tours to Alcatraz under
contract to the National Park Service. Blue & Gold Fleet
also offers a range of cruises, including Bay cruises,
ferries to Sausalito, Tiburon, Alameda/Oakland, Vallejo and
Angel Island, tours to the Wine Country, Monterey/Carmel,
Muir Woods, Yosemite National Park and Six Flags Marine
World. In addition, Blue & Gold Fleet charters vessels for
private and corporate events and offers transportation to
SBC Park during baseball season.
