Twenty-one days after leaving Shanghai, the Zhenhua 18 arrives in San Francisco Bay carrying some precious cargo: the first tower sections for the new East Span of the San Francisco- Oakland Bay Bridge. In this aerial photo by frequent Bay Crossings contributor Barrie Rokeach, the tower sections seem to salute the city as they steam toward the construction staging area at Pier 7 in Oakland.
